The Seta-Lovibond Colour Comparator is used for visual determination of the colour of oils and petroleum waxes. Readings calibrated in accordance with ASTM D1500.

The three section field-of-view optical system allows a sample and two reference standard colour filters to be viewed simultaneously, allowing easy comparison of colour. The colour filters are mounted in two discs, one with full value standards and the other with intermediate value standards, giving improved discrimination over single disc comparators.

The discs and sample are illuminated by a tungsten quartz halogen light source colour corrected to CIE standard illuminant C. Samples which are not clear such as petroleum waxes are pre-heated above their cloud point. Samples too dark for direct viewing are diluted with kerosene.

Replacement white inserts are available to ensure correct lighting levels are preserved.

Supplied with two filter discs, three sample containers, power supply unit and instruction manual.
